Sign PDF

Processed in your browser

Printing a contract, signing it, scanning it, and emailing it back is a lot of ceremony for a loan between friends. Sign PDF lets you draw or type your signature, place it exactly where the signature line is, and download the signed file — all in your browser.

To be clear about what you get: this adds a simple electronic signature, an image of your signature embedded in the page. It is not a certified digital signature with cryptographic identity verification. For everyday agreements that is often enough, but the difference matters and is explained below.

How it works

  1. Add the contract PDF that needs signing.
  2. Draw your signature with a mouse or finger, or type your name and pick a signature style.
  3. Drag the signature onto the signature line and resize it to fit.
  4. Add the date next to it if you like, then download the signed PDF.

Your privacy

Your document and your signature are processed entirely in your browser — neither ever leaves your device.

The signature you draw is not stored anywhere after you close the tab.

Your documents are never used to train AI models.

Common use cases

  • Sign a loan agreement a friend sent you without printing anything.
  • Countersign a debt acknowledgment and return it in minutes.
  • Add your signature to a payment extension agreed over chat.
  • Sign a freelance contract from your phone while traveling.
  • Prepare a signed copy for each party so both keep identical files.

Limitations

  • This places a signature image on the page — it is not a certified digital signature and carries no cryptographic proof of identity.
  • Some documents in some countries must be signed on paper or before an official; check the requirements for your document type.
  • Password-protected files must be unlocked before signing.

Frequently asked questions

Is a signature image legally binding?

It can be. Many countries accept simple electronic signatures for everyday contracts, and courts often care more about whether both parties clearly agreed than about the signing method. That said, some document types require handwritten or certified signatures, and rules differ by country — for large amounts, consider signing on paper or getting local advice.

What is the difference between this and a certified digital signature?

This tool embeds a picture of your signature in the PDF. A certified digital signature additionally uses cryptography and a verified identity certificate to prove who signed and that the file was not altered afterwards. For high-stakes documents, that stronger form may be required or advisable.

How do I make an electronically signed agreement stronger as evidence?

Keep the surrounding proof: the chat or email where you both exchanged the signed file, the transfer slip showing the money moved, and each party's copy. Together these show agreement far better than the signature image alone.

Can both parties sign the same PDF?

Yes. One person signs and downloads the file, sends it to the other, and the second person opens that signed copy in the tool and adds their own signature.

Does my signature get saved by FinSafe?

No. The signature exists only in your browser while you work and inside the PDF you download. Nothing is sent to or stored on a server.

Can I sign on my phone?

Yes — drawing with a finger on a touchscreen works well, often better than a mouse. The tool runs in any modern mobile browser.
